One year ago on August 17th 2013, AirDailyX reached perhaps it's most controversial moment in it's nearly 3 years in operation. On top of this, my partner and ADX founder Dominique had retired and I was left with a big decision on my hands. Would AirDailyX survive? Should AirDailyX survive? And: could I even do it on my own? Ultimately, with all the work I had put into ADX over the years, all the friends I had made, and the notion of just how much the flight simulation community depended on ADX being both developers and enthusiasts alike, seeing this brand, this global community resource just die and wither away was unthinkable. Besides, I had really enjoyed my time with ADX and I felt I still had the energy to keep the shop running.
So with the support at home, and true desire to continue, I decided ADX would continue. Many doubted it would last. Many bet I would fail or burn out. But the truth, it really has not been a one man band. ADX has really become something more of not just a community resource, but a community effort. I really want to thank those of you who not just utilized ADX as a means to get information, but took the time and offered your findings as well. Your tipoff's have been an asset in reducing the amount of time I have to dedicate to this site every day and keeps it far ahead of any other site online. The only way other sites can truly compete is to get their news directly from ADX. You all have made it #1!
Your assistance with news tipoff's also has freed more time for me to spend with my family and the other things I enjoy doing outside flight simulation. For those of you who have contributed reviews, thanks so much for your help as well. One year later, and ADX is still alive! I wish I could name all of those who have been giving their assistance but the list is quite long and you see their names pop up on a regular basis anyway. Again, my sincere thanks, you know who you are. For the development community that has and continues to support ADX, thanks so much! Your friendships have proven invaluable.
In October, ADX will be turning 4 years old and it is still growing. Over the course of the old blog, AirDailyX saw a total of 6,363,584 pageviews. Since the launch on the new website in February of this year, that number continues to grow with an audience size of over 200,000 unique visitors. Hard to believe our community is that big. And yet, I am sure that number is just a microcosm of folks that have actually discovered ADX. I am pleased to have the ability to continue to serve this community and God willing, I will continue. AirDailyX will continue. Much work still to do, thanks to all of you for making it worth the journey.
